Week 11e: Confessions

A.K.A. is Danny arrogant and is Henry evil?

Well since this IS a tvholics confessional, it's about time that I did at least some confessing regarding my TV watching ... so now on to Danny and Henry.

Danny IS arrogant .. the new judge on So You Think You Can Dance, Adam Shankman, hit it right on the money. As soon as he uttered those words it was like a light bulb going on in my head. That's what's been bothering me about the guy. He dances like he's above it all. He's so beautiful, his technique is superb and he is an arrogant bastard. We had a glimpse of it 2 weeks ago when Cedric was saved and he was in the bottom 3. I thought he was just a bit frustrated ... but now I see that it was much more and much worse! Nigel can go suck an egg ... the thing Danny needs to find is not some magic but humility!

I hope Henry isn't evil. I really love his character on Eureka. But after what happened to him at the end of last season it seems like he could go that way. This show beautifully walks that razor edge of funny light drama. Superficially it seems so lighthearted from the lighting to the music and even to a lot of the dialog. But then the story lines can hit you like a ton of bricks as this weeks did. Poor Carter and Henry ... my heart bled for them both! Even though I hope Henry isn't evil, I can see how his descent into his obsession with getting his beloved back might be a very intriguing season long arc for the series. As far as Carter forgetting the old time line, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think having him forget takes away from his character growth and sends him back to the lovable duffus he was in the 1st season. He was entertaining but I want more out of my main characters than simple wise crack delivery mechanisms!

I think I need to buy the 1st season. Having watched the show again after all this time, I remember how much I love Eureka ;)
